Cyclo Project ryPAST PROJECT / 2023 / Tsushima, Japan
Architecture, intercultural learning, and participation beyond the university studio.

The 2023 Tsushima project formed part of a series launched in 2021. It connected young people studying architecture with a local Japanese setting, using workshops and informal learning to explore participation in community life.
The project objectives brought architectural and construction knowledge together with communication, leadership, teamwork, and planning. Working with people from different backgrounds provided a setting for learning about identity, diversity, and collaboration.
Partners came from Finland, Japan, Denmark, and Sweden. Alongside the practical programme, the project examined how non-formal and informal approaches to architectural education could be applied in Asian universities.
